Stainless Steel

Material Grade Stainless Steel Type Property Description and Characteristics
Alloy 20 Austenitic Excellent corrosion resistance in a wide range of environments, particularly resistant to sulfuric acid and other aggressive chemicals. Commonly used in chemical processing, pharmaceuticals, and food processing applications.
Grade 304 Austenitic Combines good corrosion resistance, high ductility, and excellent formability. Used widely in architecture, food processing, and chemical equipment.
Grade 304L Austenitic Excellent corrosion resistance and formability. Lower carbon content improves weldability and reduces the risk of sensitization during welding.
Grade 316 Austenitic Superior corrosion resistance, excellent strength and heat resistance. Commonly used in marine environments and applications involving exposure to corrosive chemicals.
Grade 316L Austenitic Enhanced resistance to sensitization and improved weldability due to low carbon content. Widely used in applications requiring excellent corrosion resistance, such as pharmaceutical and medical equipment.
Grade 321 Austenitic Offers excellent high-temperature strength, corrosion resistance, and weldability. Often used in applications involving elevated temperatures, such as aircraft exhaust systems and heat exchangers.
Grade 430 Ferritic Good corrosion resistance, especially in mildly corrosive environments. Commonly used in automotive trim, kitchen utensils, and indoor architectural features.
Grade 439 Ferritic Improved corrosion resistance compared to Grade 430. Suitable for applications requiring high-temperature oxidation resistance, such as exhaust systems and heat exchangers.
Grade 444 Ferritic Excellent resistance to corrosion, particularly in chloride-containing environments. Often used in water heaters, heat exchangers, and architectural features.
Grade 446 Ferritic Exceptional resistance to scaling and oxidation at high temperatures due to high chromium content. Commonly used in applications involving elevated temperatures, such as furnace components and exhaust systems.
Grade 410 Martensitic High strength, durability, and moderate corrosion resistance. Commonly used for its excellent mechanical properties and wear resistance.
Grade 420 Martensitic Increased hardness, strength, and corrosion resistance due to higher carbon content. Ideal for applications requiring enhanced wear resistance and moderate corrosion resistance.
Grade 440A Martensitic High carbon content for superior strength, wear resistance, and moderate corrosion resistance. Often used in high-quality cutting tools or surgical instruments.
15-5 PH Precipitation Hardening Combines high strength, excellent corrosion resistance, and good toughness. Suits applications requiring superior mechanical properties and resistance to stress corrosion cracking.
17-4 PH Precipitation Hardening Known for its excellent combination of strength, corrosion resistance, and toughness. Commonly used in aerospace, nuclear, and chemical industries for components that require high strength and corrosion resistance.
Duplex 2205 Duplex Combines the benefits of austenitic and ferritic stainless steel. It offers excellent corrosion resistance, high strength, and good weldability. Used in oil and gas, chemical processing, and marine environments.
Zeron 100 Duplex Offers outstanding resistance to corrosion and cracking in aggressive environments, including seawater and acidic chloride-containing solutions. Commonly used in offshore oil and gas, chemical processing, and desalination plants.

4340 HT Chromium-Molybdenum Exhibits high strength, toughness, and wear resistance, making it ideal for high-stress components in the oil and gas industry, such as gears and crankshafts in drilling equipment.
